Openwater Scuba Diver / Junior Openwater Scuba Diver

Just imagine where you will go! Begin your underwater explorations by enrolling in an Openwater Scuba Diver Class. This is our entry-level certification course where you will learn the fundamental knowledge and skills to safety dive in open water.

Earning your Openwater Scuba Diver Certification card is an accomplishment for which you will rightfully feel proud and you will be ready to begin a lifetime of underwater adventures and discovering.

During your Openwater Scuba Diver class, you will learn about modern dive equipment, diving sciences, responsible diving practices and the environment. Diving skills will be taught and practiced first in the comfort and convenience of a confined water environment and finally during your open water training dives with your Instructor.

Water course – OVERVIEW

After choosing a course date and booking online,
students receive a link to e-learning.

Students then receive a link to log in to their e-learning,
to be complete prior to Orientation night.

DAY 1:
(Meet up/orientation
night)

The meet up/orientation night is
held at Manly Marina from 6pm-9pm on a Wednesday evening.

It includes a theory session and
discussion of your e-learning, course overview & expectations, sizing up
your scuba hire gear, and of course the opportunity to get to know your
instructor and fellow dive buddies!

DAY 2: (Pool Day)

Day 2 is spent in the pool, where you will learn scuba gear
set up, scuba skills and how to dive in a safe environment. This will include
your 200m swim, 10-minute float/tread water, and snorkel session.

DAY 3:
(Shore dives x 1-2)

On day 3, your first ocean dives
will be shore dives from a Gold Coast location. This is where you will apply
your scuba knowledge and skills to the ocean.

DAY 4: (Boat dives x 2)

Day 4 is spent out on the Brisbane Scuba charter and
includes 2 x boat dives at one Brisbane’s amazing dive sites. A 6am start from
Manly Marina, with lunch & beverages provided.

DAY 5: (Boat dives x 2)

Day 5 is spent out on the Brisbane
Scuba charter and includes 2 x boat dives at one of Brisbane’s amazing dive
sites. A 6am start from Manly Marina, with lunch & beverages provided.

On return to the Marina - we have
a course de-brief, complete scuba logbooks, issue Open Water certificates, and have
a drink to celebrate!

What’s Next?

Brisbane Scuba offers local dive day trips to a huge range of different sites as well as Intrastate and Overseas extended dive trips.

Continue your training by enrolling in an Advanced Scuba Diver, Enriched Air Nitrox Course, Rescue Diver Course or St John First Aid Course.
